Kim on the Today Show discussing this strategy to win the war for talent
Did you see my spot on The Today Show last week? It was about un-retirees – people who have retired but want to come back to the workforce, or those who don’t want (or can’t afford) to retire.
Georgie, the host, challenged me when I said that these people should not rule out the possibility of staying in their current job – because employers have to cast their net a lot wider to source enough quality people to hit their goals.
In fact, according to a recent report by Korn Ferry,
“Australian companies will face a talent shortage of 739,000 highly skilled workers by 2020 and 2.2 million by 2030”.
The truth is, if we are going to survive this talent shortage we have to rethink our entire recruitment process.
My team and I have just completed an end to end recruitment process review for one of the Big 4 Accounting firms and are about to start another for an iconic Australian manufacturer.
In conjunction with these projects we have put together a list of best-in-class recruitment strategies and processes based on extensive research and interviews with companies that are nailing it.
I’m curious: Is your company looking at your recruitment strategies right now?
If it is I’d love to jump on the phone to see if my team and I might be able to help, whether to simply provide you with access to our upcoming white paper on the topic, to conduct a strategic planning session with you to develop your own process or to use the process that we’ve developed for the two clients I mentioned above.
