For 9 years during the first week in November, it was the same routine. Then in 2021 this happened…
Every year for 10 years I have been applying to speak at the Association for Talent Development (ATD) conference. This is THE go to event for talent and organizational development professionals. It typically attracts around 13,000 people.
Every year I complete 4 submissions with a combination of different topics and different streams. They notify the submissions (of which there are hundreds? thousands?) during the first week in November.
After 10 years I could cite the email verbatim…
“Thank you for your submission…”
“Due to the large number of proposals received…”
“Extremely high quality…”
“We appreciate the time and effort you took to complete the submission. We recognize that you may be disappointed with this outcome…”
I’ve now received 30 of these emails. 4 for each of the previous 9 years and 3 for this year. 𝗬𝗲𝘀…𝟯 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟰𝘁𝗵, 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁.
The 4th told me that my proposal for “Mind Reading for Managers®: 9 Keys to Engagement and Retention” had been accepted!
I will be speaking at 8AM on Wednesday May 18th in Orlando. AND I will be exhibiting at booth number 1324 for the entire conference.
